Where to Shop for Furniture and Decor in Rocklin, Loomis, and Granite Bay

large selection of throw pillows at The Shop in Granite Bay, California

Tired of visiting the usual chain stores at the Galleria Mall, or ordering furniture online only to discover that it doesn't look or feel how you expected? There is no better way to shop for furniture and home decor than by visiting stores in person to see and test how pieces actually look and feel before buying. If you live in the North Sacramento region, you may not realize that there are some fantastic local furniture shops to be found here. If you are looking to spruce up your home, check out these 3 home furnishing stores in Rocklin, Loomis, and Granite Bay, California:

  1. The Feathered Nest

3264 Taylor Rd, Loomis, CA 95650

The Feathered Nest in Loomis, California, is a delightful shopping destination with small town character. Located just past the charming main strip in Loomis, this store offers a beautifully curated selection of furniture, home decor, and decorative accents. Test chairs and sofas, get a feel for table heights, explore artwork, kitchen wares, and linens, or see and touch their displays of rugs and textiles. They house a mix of classic, timeless furniture, and quirkier pieces that will add personality to your home. Make a day of it, and stop one of the local restaurants before or after exploring the shop. My own family loves to eat at Taylor's, a casual little burger spot known for its menu of more than 350 milkshake flavors.

2. Pottery World

4419 Granite Dr Suite B, Rocklin, CA 95677

Pottery World was one of the first furniture and decor stores I visited after moving to Rocklin. Their name stems from their large selection of outdoor furniture, fountains, and pottery. However, as an interior designer, I find the real treasures to be inside. They offer a large assortment of furniture, lighting, decorative accents, and artwork, as well as a colorful selection of fake flowers, clothing, jewelry, and personal care items. While you ponder which pieces you like best, you can stop at their in-store restaurant. With cozy indoor seating and an outdoor patio, it's the perfect spot to take a break and enjoy a coffee or a full meal. Located alongside I-80 in Rocklin, Pottery World is an easily accessible destination for anyone visiting from a nearby city.

3. The Shop by Design Shop

8705 Auburn Folsom Rd. Granite Bay, CA 97546

The Shop in Granite Bay, California is an 18,000 square foot home furnishings destination sure to have something for everyone. Their style leans transitional and traditional, but includes more modern pieces, too. They have a Visual Comfort Lighting showroom, as well as a large selection of rugs, pillows, artwork, and hardware. Their new expansion makes it easy to test a range of chairs and tables to find the look and feel that's right for you. I felt a bit like Goldilocks testing every chair in the store, and was reminded that at just 5'-2" tall, many dining chairs leave my feet floating above the floor. Wouldn't it be nice to know how a chair fits your frame before 6 of them are delivered to your doorstep?

BENEFITS OF SHOPPING LOCAL:

There are many reasons to visit these stores - style, service, selection! Here are a few:

  1. Support your community by supporting local small businesses. Stores like these are an important part of the local economy, run by ambitious, hard-working shop owners who understand the value in curating a beautiful in-person shopping experience.

  2. I said it before and I'll say it again: testing furniture in person before making a purchase can save you a lot of hassle, stress, and wasted money when online images don't meet your expectations.

  3. Shopping is fun! Get off your computer, go out into the world, and enjoy the simple pleasure of walking through a store and touching things.

NEED HELP COORDINATING YOUR BEAUTIFUL FINDS?

Each of these stores has trained and talented staff on hand to assist you with purchases. However, if you want to curate a unique look by pulling together a range of furniture, textiles, lighting, and decor from a range of stores, a professional interior designer can help. At Heather Zerah Interiors, we help clients with planning, selections, purchasing, and installation to ensure that every items works together for a beautiful, livable home.

Steps in the design process include:

  1. Detailed space planning through measurements, floor plans, and elevations.

  2. Visual mood boards and itemized lists of every item that needs to be purchased so you can see the number of decisions to be made and the overall cost per room.

  3. Purchasing, tracking, and installation oversight to save you time and help you avoid stress when shipping issues occur.

Whether you are just shopping for one or two items, or you need to furnish an entire house, get started by getting off your screen and visiting one of these furniture and home decor shops in person. If you want to make a day of it, you could even start early and drive to all three.

Happy Shopping!
